Ended up watching the entire series because I was just curious where it was going. I am really confused and not even sure what to think about this. I agree, this should have and could have just been a TV movie and not a mini series. I love Linda Cardellini and Jason Bateman, but...yeah.
There's a difference between slow burn and clunky pacing, and this show was more on the clunky side.
I'm going to get ahead of things and say this show should have been a movie. As we know from the show's description, "one of them ends up dead". The premise of the show is how-they-done-it. I'm not watching 6 more hour-long slow clunky episodes just to find out the final twist.
I am on the fence with this one...I love Jason Bateman as an actor. That first scene with Floyd and his son...I would have been mortified if I had to endure that kind of therapy with my dad...very cringe (for lack of a better word). I did laugh quite a few times, so I will give this another week or two.
