Jacinta Pichimahuida, la maestra que no se olvida

The character originated in short stories written by Abel Santa Cruz in the 1940s for the magazine Patoruzú. After an earlier radio adaptation, Canal 9 brought the concept to television in 1966, starring Evangelina Salazar as the sweet, patient primary school teacher whose gentle pedagogical methods contrast with strict traditional schooling.
