Rookie forensic pathologist Ching Tsz Yan finally earns her transfer to work under her benefactor Lam Sam after much effort. Lam Sam is widely recognized within the forensics department as the toughest and most hard-core pathologist - sharp-tongued, arrogant, and dismissive of newcomers. He constantly berates Tsz Yan.
Meanwhile, detective Ko Chun, nicknamed the "Unluckiest Cop in the Force", is accused of killing a suspect during a pursuit. Lam Sam entrusts the critical autopsy to Tsz Yan, who lives up to expectations and discovers a hidden layer in the case. Ko Chun, too, starts to see her in a new light. From then on, Lam Sam, Tsz Yan, and Ko Chun form a tight-knit trio, joining forces to crack one mysterious murder case after another.
