A junior officer serving aboard a once-popular but now aging and run-down cruise ship, the Amsterdam Queen, discovers that the new owners intend to sell the vessel for scrap. In a desperate attempt to save their ship, he and the rest of the crew embroil themselves in a number of "get rich quick" schemes.
