Be on TV - The Crystal Maze needs you!

The legendary Crystal Maze is coming back, with a new 20-part series hosted by Richard Ayoade and Channel 4 are on the lookout for contestants!

Originally this highly popular Channel 4 game show saw a team of six contestants (three male, three female) led around four time zones by the host Richard O'Brien, playing games and winning crystals as prizes. The Crystal Maze wasn't really a maze at all. It can be better described as: a circuit of four inter-connecting play areas or "time zones" with the crystal dome in the centre. In 2016, Channel 4 bought the show back for a one-off charity celebrity special hosted by Stephen Merchant. The success of the special, has led to the network bringing the show back for a full series.

You must be aged 18 (eighteen) years or over and be a permanent legal resident and currently living in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands. Each team needs 5 players and is required to have a standby player, please include them in your applications.

Full details and an application form can be found at the shortaudition website.

The closing date for applications is March 10th, 2017.

From the Official press release: Channel 4 has confirmed the commission of a brand new series of The Crystal Maze from Fizz, RDF Television’s entertainment label. The 20 x 60 series will be hosted by new Maze Master Richard Ayoade, and includes a set of celebrity specials for Stand Up to Cancer.

Producers are already looking for teams of five contestants who have what it takes to navigate the Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Future zones of the maze. They will face a range of skill, mystery, physical and mental challenges to win crystals that equate to time in the final test – the legendary Crystal Dome.

The series will be filmed at The Bottle Yard Studios in Bristol, where a purpose built maze spanning over 30,000 square feet is being created by the original Crystal Maze designer, James Dillon.
