Babushka - A Very Confusing New Game Show

When I first heard that a new game show called Babushka was coming to ITV, I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not. I'll try to explain how the show works, so please try to keep up :)

Hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal, pairs of contestants have to answer a true or false question. If they get the question right, they get to open one of the Russian Dolls up.

There are ten Russian Dolls, all with names like Natalya, Viktoriya, Tatiana and Olya. You get the idea, so I'm not gonna name them all.
Two of these dolls have absolutely nothing inside them, two contain £500, another two are hiding £1,000, two more have £2,000, one has £5,000 and one has £10,000 in it.
If the £500 doll pops up, they have a decision to make. Do they bank that £500, or risk opening that doll again to see if there’s a £1,000 doll hiding inside. But, they have no idea and the next level of that doll could have nothing. And so, they either bank what that doll has, or carry on opening her up until they either get to the £10,000 or lose the lot. Also, if they happen to pick one of the two dolls that contain nothing or if they get their true or false question wrong, they lose any money they’ve won at this point. Basically, there’s more ways to lose money than win it.

There is assistance by way of three "Hints" that can be used during gameplay. The first is ‘Peek’, in which the contestants can open any doll they’re currently playing to see whether there is another doll inside or not, risk-free. The second is ‘Switch’ where, If they don’t like the look of one of the questions they’re asked, they can ditch it and change it for another question in a different category. The third is ‘X-Ray’ which can only be used if they have £5,000 in the bank at the halfway point in the game. With 'X-Ray', contestants are able to see everything inside one of the remaining dolls.

And finally, as if all this wasn't enough, there is a final twist at the end of the game when they’re given the chance to either double their money or lose the lot. If the contestants decide to take the gamble, they are faced with a mini white and mini black Babushka doll. They pick one, and if it contains a golden Babushka, they go home with double whatever they’d won up to this point.

And, that is that. Did you manage to keep up? I've re-read what I typed several times and I'm still confused! I do enjoy my game shows, but this one is just too confusing to follow along with and enjoy. Anyway, I thought I'd give it a go because it could be good. After watching the first shows, I think I'm done with it.

Babushka airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and will run for 4 weeks. Have you watched it yet, or are you planning to do so?
Please, do share your thoughts and comments, below. I look forward to reading them.
