2017 Emmy Nominations

Shemar Moore and Anna Chlumsky announced the nominations for the 69th Emmy Awards on July 13, 2017. In what is becoming the new scene for television awards, the main five networks were again mostly shut out of the nominations. This Is Us, Modern Family, and Black-ish were among the few programs from the main networks to garner nominations in the any of the major categories. This is Us had the most drama nominations with eleven. NBC led the main five networks with 64 total nominations.

Cable networks like HBO and FX along with streaming service, Netflix, were again the big winners this year. HBO grabbed a total of 111 nominations in various categories and Netflix managed 91.

Westworld led the drama awards nominations, with twenty-two nods in various categories. Stranger Things was a close second with nineteen nominations. Saturday Night Live also received twenty-two nominations and was the big winner for the various comedy categories.

The 69th Annual Emmy Awards will air on CBS on Sunday September 17, 2017.
