I'm happy to see NCIS Hawai'i has been renewed, really enjoying that, as well as Bob Hearts Abishoa!!

What really works for me for NCIS Hawai'i is the fact that I just love Hawai'i. Hawai'i Five O was an incredible show and now I just need something set in the islands and I'll enjoy it. The characters are really good though. Questionable at the beginning, but I really like them all now.

Really not understanding why NCIS keeps going but the spin offs are canceled.  NCIS LA had a nice long run at least.

I admit watched NCIS for years. I also like NCIS: LA and watched NCIS: NOLA. Never got into NCIS: Hawai'i. For the most part, the parent production uses the characters well and they write good mysteries. I only stopped watching because Michael Weatherly left. As I mentioned to someone else, the show is still a juggernaut for the network and after twenty years, it's still the most-watched drama for CBS.

Yeah. While I've been watching True Lies, I'm not heartbroken it got cancelled.

The reason you are not heartbroken is because they don't have a proper main mystery ...its good to watch but to get the audience coming back they need to have a mystery that needs solved ...Otherwise the show is great it has feel good moments,it has funny moments,it has some action..they just missed out on the crucial cliffhanger moments....

@LadyShelley, I watched the first few seasons of NCIS, a long time ago, never got into the spin-offs, the only reason for watching Hawai'i initially was to see the portrayal of Hawai'i in contrast to the "shiny, pretty" Hawai'i they showed on Magnum P.I. I do take your point about the parent show, but the reason I continued to watch it was because I think they did a really good job with the characters and the actors that they chose to play them.

NCIS: Hawai'i does pretty well, in part because it has the parent show as a lead-in. Say what you want about NCIS, it's still the highest-rated scripted drama on the network. And Hawai'i will continue to have that favorable lead-in next season.

I'm not sure if the reversal on SWAT had anything to do with East New York and True Lies getting the axe or not. I would suspect not. It's the rare mid-season show that gets renewed, so True Lies already had one strike against it from the start.

I have to admit I first started watching it to see what it would be like with Steve Howey in a serious role. I enjoy watching the reruns of Reba and he plays such a goofball on that one.
