Castle's mother, Martha Rodgers, is a former Broadway actress who never quite made it as big as she thinks. But that hasn't stopped her from seeking whatever spotlight she can. Despite being swindled out of her savings by an ex-husband, and being forced to move in with her son and granddaughter Alexis, Martha is happy to keep family close by. She's always there to point Castle in the right direction…or whichever direction she thinks is right. She may not have all the right answers but Martha stands by her family with loyalty, love and usually a glass of wine. These days, Martha is hard at work putting together an acting school where she can impart her formidable thespian skills and shower students with her unique outlook on life.
