The Tok'ra come to Earth and tell Sam that her dad has been captured and is being held prisoner by Sokar on a planet Earth people would describe as hell. Martouf informs them that Jolinar has escaped from this place once before, so it is up to Sam to remember how.

David Palffy (Sokar) also plays Anubis, another powerful Goa'uld, who will appear in later episodes and who shares many similarities with Sokar. This led to some confusion among fans when David's name appeared in the credits for "Revelations".

The Goa'uld transport vessel (first seen in "Deadman Switch") is called a Tel'tak. It is capable of hyperspace travel, but not all Tel'tak's are equipped with cloaking technology.
