In my opinion, from the Pilot episode, the series shows promise. I look forward to the Writers integrating more of Appalachian culture into future episodes. My desire is that the series is accurate as far as Sociology and Anthropology are concerned.
Regrettably, I felt the scene involving the young man and the Farrell Wine lacked credibility. Considering that consuming five shots of 40% alcohol in the form of distilled spirits, in a brief period of time, can result in an Alcohol overdose, drinking half a jar of moonshine -- looked like at least a half gallon jug to me -- over a few hours would result in Alcohol poisoning due to the effect such a large amount of Alcohol would have on the Autonomic Nervous System. Writers need to remember that Alcohol is a poison, especially with it being metabolized to the more toxic Acetaldehyde to be cleared from the body, but of course they need to cater to their sponsors.
