Unfortunately, while the first season was understandable patchy but still good overall while he got the feel for the position, this second season is not working out for me. He just doesn't have anywhere near the touch with the political stuff that Jon Stewart or John Oliver and especially Samantha Bee has and is displaying on her new show. He is so poor at it I invariably end up wishing he just hadn't bothered with a particular political piece irrespective of which candidate he is going after at the time. In fact, the best shows nowadays tend to be when his correspondents have a decently sized segment as they often manage to hit it out of the park and cover for his failings. But it also doesn't help that one of the best, Jessica Williams has left. If he doesn't improve I can't see him keeping the show for long.
