As part of this year's Stand Up to Cancer campaign, Bear Grylls abandons 10 celebrities on an uninhabited island in the Pacific. After more than a week, the celebrities still haven't eaten a single proper meal. Having seized power from comedian Dom Joly, The Hotel's Mark Jenkins thinks he can turn the group's fortunes around. His big plan is to get the islanders hunting for turkeys. But Mark's management style puts him at odds with the others, especially former Labour councillor Karen Danczuk. Following an attack of sand flies, a rift emerges, fuelling Karen's own leadership ambitions. As the infighting escalates, so does the group's growing sense of desperation.
