British actors and actresses also do a lot of stage work intertwined with screen work. She might have gotten other work to tide her over to her new project. This is pure speculation though

Yes, it makes sense now. She has been cast in Dreamland, so she probably had to leave New Amsterdam due to conflicting schedule. Odd that IMDb still doesn't list Dreamland as Agyeman's upcoming project. Thanks so much for the info and the link, Chayne! :)

What!? I did not see that coming! That's too bad. I really like Freema Agyeman and I liked Helen Sharpe's relationship with Max Goodwin. Shame. And odd. It's hard to imagine a series regular exiting a show just before the (short) final season without a good reason. The article doesn't mention any particular reason for Agyeman's departure. IMDb doesn't mention any upcoming project for Agyeman, so this is probably not the reason. Anyone has any insights? Anyway, thanks for the (sad) news, Tony! :)
