Ella Becroft works as an actor, director, and producer. She has two production companies that she produces work through; Petit Workshop and Votre Arme.
Ella has been a Red Leap Theatre company member since 2007, when she first collaborated with Kate Parker and Julie Nolan on their production Beyond the Blue. She then went on to devise and perform in their multi-awarding winning production The Arrival, for which she was awarded a Chapman Tripp Theatre Award for Most Promising Newcomer. Ella was also a cast member for Red Leap's latest work Sea. Ella has also performed for Auckland Theatre Company and Theatre Stampede.
Ella was employed as Red Leap's Assistant Director Intern in 2013, and has gone on to direct and produce numerous projects with the company, she also produced the premier season of Hey Hey Mama's Flashdunce for the New Zealand Comedy Festival 2014.
Ella has co-directed Noyyes Fludde for New Zealand Opera, The Schools Trash 2 Fashion Final Performance 2013 and 2014, and directed and produced The Feast 2013. She recently directed 35 children in the large scale production The Cohort Hotel for Hawkins Youth Theatre, and she is currently directing Mr Nancy as part of The Feast 2014 at The Basement Theatre.
