Nigel was born in Atikokin, Ontario, Canada and grew up in Toronto and spent some of his formative youth in Tokyo, Japan and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He attended Ryerson Theatre School and soon after graduation began his professional career working in children's theatre with Actor's Trunk Co., Theatre Direct; he co-founded the Acorn Theatre Company in Peterborough, Ontario for young audiences. He has been a professional actor for over thirty years and in that time has worked in all aspects of the entertainment business. Theatre credits include work at the Stratford Festival, on Broadway in NYC, Can Stage, Theatre Aquarius, Drayton Theatre, Tarragon Theatre, Grand Theatre, Theatre New Brunswick and Mirvish Productions in Toronto.
Nigel is also a teacher and acting coach. He is currently the on-camera acting teacher at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto.
Nigel makes his home in Burlington, Ontario with his wife Cintia.
