Chase Lawless, formerly known as Chase Cownden, is a Canadian actor, fight choreographer/stunt coordinator, photographer, and producer based in Toronto, Ontario. He works between Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Toronto.
Lawless was born in Cochrane, Alberta, to parents Shelley Swirski and Vince Cownden. After obtaining a film degree from Red Deer College at age 22, he moved to Toronto to pursue a career in film and television. He is best known for his work on Canadian hit comedy Letterkenny, has been featured on Paramount+ ambitious series Mayor of Kingstown, and has made an appearance in the Fox series Accused, which is based on the BBC's BAFTA-winning crime anthology series. Beyond acting, he also trains regularly in stage and screen combat, and has a passion for several martial arts.
Chase changed his last name for stage from Cownden to Lawless to honor his late grandmother, Mavis Cownden (née Lawless).
