ivansuperpower wrote 5 years ago: 1

Hi there,

I'm trying to update the premiere date of the new episodes from the serie 'Hi Score Girl' that were premiered on netflix last 20th of March... But I don't know why is not possible due to it was Wendsday and I would be expected to air episodes only Fridays. Could someone help me with that?

The date is correct (From Wikipedia: The series received 3 OVA episodes titledExtra Stagethat premiered on March 20, 2019.)

Many thanks for considering my request!

Ivan

The episodes were never aired by Tokyo MX, therefore the airdates should be left blank.

Read the chapters "Season consistency " and "Airdate owner" for the detailed explanation https://www.tvmaze.com/faq/15/episodes

Ok, thanks... For me it is a bit weird that the 3 new episodes were released in Netflix but not in Tokyo MX channel. How do you know that?

I've checked the official anime website (http://hi-score-girl.com/) and it is displayed that the last 3 new episodes were released in the aforesaid date.

They were released as OVA (on disc) and on Netflix http://hi-score-girl.com/news/index00520000.html

Ah, ok... I didn't know that were released as an OVAs... I'm not an anime expert but I think that when the episodes are released as OVAs they won't be released in its original tv channel.

Besides, I though that TVMaze never track OVA episodes. It is a bit weird that in this case these episodes exists without release date despite of they were released. What do you think?

Examples of other animes without OVAs in TVMaze

https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/6605/shigatsu-wa-kimi-no-uso (1 OVA)

https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/4875/triage-x (1 OVA)

https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/34013/violet-evergarden (1 OVA)

https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/2771/prison-school (1 OVA)

I'm newbie here, I'm trying to understand how TVMaze works in order to help :)

It would be true if episodes were released as OVA only. But in this case they were simultaneously released on the curated web channel, which is allowed. However, since the original channel never aired them (not yet at least), the airdates are left blank. If Tokyo MX decide to air them later, those dates will be used. If you read the policy I mentioned above, you'd see an example, covering almost exact situation:

For example, a show airs 10 episodes on FOX after which it's cancelled. A few months later, the final 3 episodes air on a foreign network. In this case, the airdate for those final 3 episodes must be left empty.
