Addon for Kodi (former XBMC)

z3ro wrote 9 years ago: 1

Hi,

I've just registered and I'm still exploring your site (looks very good for know :) )

I would suggest to develop an add-on for Kodi (former XBMC) to automatically set watched episodes on our collection.

Thanks :)

i would also like that kind of stuff. I am using another tvdb, but it's crappy.. tvmaze should be the one!:D

You would have better luck asking for an addon on Kodi's forum.

Jan wrote 9 years ago: 1

Hi guys,

Apologies for the lack of response from us on this thread.
The TVmaze staff is mostly focussed on providing tv show data and the best user experience possible.
Anyone from our or Kodi's community is more than welcome to develop the addon and contact us in case they need assistance regarding our API and its endpoints.

Otherwise, as Dragen said: You might have better luck presenting our API on the Kodi forums and to its developers. Chances that someone might pick it up there are significantly higher.

cheers,

Jan

Hi people, I've had the addon developed for a few months now, but I used it for myself only sice I didn't know anybody would use it xD It still has some problems because I haven't worked on the code in a while. It marks about 85% of episodes. I plan to add episode voting (rating) and I will definetly write back here if and when I decide to release it to public :)

Hi Natko,

Thanks for dropping by. We're sure a lot of users would find your addon very useful.
Keep us updated on your progress. Looking forward to it.

cheers,

Jan

Sure I will, I'm glad that you admins are okay with it :)

Jan wrote 9 years ago: 1

Why wouldn't we be? The API was made to be used on projects like yours. :)

I have added the script to my kodi 16.1 installation and set my username password etc but nothing happens. Other scripts appear when you first start kodi and tell you they have logged int owebsites etc, nothing for this one. Have you got it working / tested with Kodi 16.1 ?

Yes it's working, but not perfectly. Try enabling notifications in addon settings. It will notify you after episode is watched that it marked it as watched on your account. But as I say, it is not perfect since there is no official API for user login and account manipulation so it uses some unsupported methods.

Okay, I managed to fix some bugs and make this addon more efficient. I also fixed the problem due to new watched/aquired/skiped features. Find v1.0.2 version in my repository and try it out :)

Qwakuk wrote 9 years ago: 1

Still not working, but on my Raspberry Pi it is version 1.02.

Tried it from Kodi on my pc and it gets added, confirms its logged in but nothing else happens when I watch a program, however it is verion 1.03

I just found what is the problem. I will fix it and send update v1.0.4 to my repo today

Sweet, didn't know there was one. Since I don't rate episodes, is it safe to use this with Trakt addon?
