It would be great if we had the option to enter a custom time offset by show. For example, in my area, Nova on PBS airs at 9 pm CT when it appears on my calendar at 8 pm CT. If I could set a +1 hour setting, I could have it appear at the correct time. Most of the shows air at the time indicated on the schedule so would not require any offset.
To be honest, this sounds like a nightmare for maintaining the code and debugging bug reports.
Do you know why there is an offset for you? Does PBS not broadcast in the same timeslot across all different regions?
Not all PBS stations follow exactly the same schedule - the local PBS station pushes the prime time lineup back an hour to show a local news show.
And the offset is not a huge deal to me, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. I recognize that it could be abused - what if someone decided to push something back or forward ~1000 hours or so? That could be hard to manage.
