Deutschland 83 aired first in the USA, but it's a German Tvshow, in german language and produced by a german studio, UFA Fiction. It's about to start airing on RTL Television in Germany.
Is it possible to change its country origin?

We don't currently have a property such as "country of origin", (For most regular shows it would be useless, and for the more complicated cases it wouldn't suffice cause they're often co-produced between different countries.) so if it aired in the USA first that's all we can display.
David, Deutschland 83 isn't a coproduction at all. It's a german show which happened to have aired in the US first for some reason. The language is german, the financing is german, the ordering network is RTl (a german channel)
The airing in the US is an acquistion. There's a difference.
You'd need the alternative airdates (with world premiere) for the US in that case, which we've talked about a lot... So I'm not rehashing, just explaining in this case, the dates are wrong.
You'd have to take into account that mr robot, for example, aired first at TIFF (Canada) ... or any other show that was showcased at another festival over all the world
That may all be true, but for now we track the airdates in whichever country aired them first, and nothing else.
True, but in the API you have "country":{"name":"United States","code":"US"
I recently switched to your api from tvrage api. In my archive Deutschland 83 used to be in the german shows group, now it ended up in the US shows. Can something be done about it?
Well, the country information is explicitly attached to the network, not to the show itself.
Perhaps you could use the language property instead?

I personally prefer it to be German as well as it is a production of RTL and Sundance just bought the rights to air it, but the other staff want to use the channel it aired first on, so we have to stick to the US and Sundance as main network, however if Alternate airing dates are implemented, we can change this or once the season 2 will be airing in Germany first, we can change it then back to RTL.

I also need the distinction beetween UK, US, Australian, Irish etc...
If I use the language property instead I'll lose it.
If you use the (network's) country only when the language is English and otherwise use the language, it'll likely behave like you want.
Otherwise, we don't support it for now.
The same goes for Black Mirror. The show is british, not american. Doesn't matter if Netflix acquired it.

Black Mirror is indeed made by Channel 4 (first 2 seasons + special), however Netflix bought Black Mirror and is currently developing a new third season for it.

I know about the Netflix acquisition, but the show remains British. Netflix is international, it distributes also French and Mexican shows for example.

That's right, but for now our policy is to stick with the channels it will or is currently airing on and for this case it is Netflix.
In case of a show like Black Mirror, you can find such information on the season level, like here: http://www.tvmaze.com/seasons/1256/black-mirror-se.... I'll add that to the API in the future as well!
But regardless, we simply don't have a property for "country/countries of origin" right now. If there's more interest, I'm open to adding something like it though.
Adding the property itself would be pretty easy, the harder part is how to define it clearly so we don't have any discussion about it for almost every show.
What would be the primary indicator? Country where the show was produced / how exactly do you define produced? Country where it was filmed? Something else? Would it allow 1 country or multiple countries? In case of 1, what to do when the production was split over several countries?
Feel free to discuss; if there's a clear consensus I'll consider it seriously.
