I Finished Both House of Cards and Daredevil and I was Fairly Disappointed in Both of Them for Different Reasons *Spoilers*

*Spoilers Abound*

House of Cards and Daredevil are both Netflix originals, with House of Cards being one of the shows that Netflix is known for and Daredevil being a new release that did a lot of good for those who saw the movie.

I just finished House of Cards Season 3 and it took myself and my significant other sometime to get through it. Season 3 finds Claire and Frank, within the White House and one of the mot boring stories that can be told is how a group of power hungry individuals hold onto their power. It can become repetitive and often times difficult to watch. I think one of the best parts about House of Cards was how they managed to manipulate so many people around them to get exactly what they want and they do just that. Season 3 suffers from this malaise that seems to affect the characters as if the writers are wondering, what do we do now? First off, they spend way too much time with Doug Stamper (Michael Gill) who throughout the season becomes more and more of a character that I wished would die. And that sucks. He was one of my few favorite characters within the show. He was struggling with addiction issues and was cut throat but he was answering to someone, which allowed me to feel that maybe he wasn't that bad of a guy at heart. Welp, that changed in Season 3. His weird relationship with the prostitute that got away becomes even more insidious and uncahracterstic of him. I no longer cared what he did or rooted for him in any capacity, rather I wish he wuld get killed off or his relationship with this prostitute would end, which it does, just not in the way I wanted to.

The final 10 minutes of this show took much to long for the characters to get there and even though I liked where it ended, Claire's decision to leave Frank should have come sooner because it appeared inauthentic at this point. She had been forced to resign from her position with the United Nations, she was basically being controlled and shown like an obidient dog throughout the primaries and I just feel that the real Claire would have said enough is enough and left him. Honestly, I think she should have run for President and I'm surprised that the writers didn't take this turn because she would have been an excellent presidential candidate.

So in summation, I hate how long it took for us to get to where we should have been within this season and I didn't like seeing all the Doug that I saw. But overall the ending was good and I look forward to next seasons where some real tensions will fly.

I had the inverse problem with Daredevil. I liked the pacing in the beginning but hated how it ended.

Daredevil had so many great things going for it. A dark story line, realistic fight scenes, and a great cast. I was all for it, until the end, when it felt to me, like every other superhero movie I've seen.

The fight scene between King Pin (Vincent D'onofrio) and Daredevil (Charlie Cox) didn't need to happen. It really didn't. But it did and it was just done in such a cheesy fashion. There were way too many close ups of his new weapon, the staff that he could break in two to make fighting sticks or whatever you call them. Honestly, the camera zoomed in every time he broke his staff up or put it back together. He also does a number of flips and kicks in and out of the scene that are just very very strange. And this fight scene just didn't need to happen, in my opinion. I honestly believed that a better Kingpin would be the one that was more manipulative and cunning rather than large and an excellent fighter.

There was also this last scene within the show where Daredevil does this corny flip off the roof after hearing a woman cry out and it was just too much for me. It reminded me of the movie.

So in conclusion, I enjoyed this show, right up until that last fight scene.

What are your thoughts on Daredevil and House of Cards? Like em, hated em, let me know!

House of Cards works well. Recommended to watch, if you have not seen this series yet.

Kevin Spacey's and Robin Wright's characters interactions together in House of Cards is very delicious to watch.

I love both shows personally, all about opinions at the end of the day. Actually surprised I liked House of Cards, not into politics at all. Kevin Spacey is a tremendous actor.

House of Cards was a big fav of mine, until the s3 ended which just sat very badly with me. I will be there for s4 but will never be rewatching s3.

Haven't watched House of Cards (yet), skipped that section *phew* ;-)

But i totally agree on Daredevil, those Close-Ups made me go crazy. Looked to me like one of those ad-things for cars in some shows, where they zoom in as the main character uses his navigation system or whatever ...

House of Cards started with an excellent first season, which I absolutely loved. 2nd season was less, but still good, although I must say that the 3th season was below my expectation and became a bit boring for me. I'm not entirely sure now if I would continue watching season 4, which will be made.

I'm not sure about Daredevil as I haven't watched yet.
