Mr. Robot Season 1 is Over!

For those of you who don't know, I've been a huge fan of this show. Also, sorry for the delayed article but I was away from my computer for a bit and this was the soonest I was able to write about it.

Mr. Robot deserves the attention and fandom it's been getting because it has been a fantastic summer show, similar to the likes of Breaking Bad. In fact, I would say, that just comparing season 1 of Mr. Robot to season 1 of Breaking Bad, I liked Mr. Robot a bit more. There were notable differences between the two but I find Elliot a bit more likable and I think the show has some fantastic female characters within it that give those shown in Breaking Bad a run for their money. Breaking Bad did experiment a bit more with some of their shots BUT, thus far, I like Mr. Robot a bit more.

Maybe this has something to do with the fact that it is set in NYC and shows a more realistic grittier side to the city, what can I say I'm biased, or that it manages to stay ahead of the curve with technology and hacking culture in general. I also feel I can relate to Elliot more as he is closer in age then Walter White was and that he struggles with a number of issues that I know a lot about, addiction and mental illness. But that is neither here nor there at this point because it only has had one season so far and did this season end on a great finale.

For those of you who haven't seen it, I will not spoil it for you, rather I will just note upon my favorite aspects of the episode.

The morality of every single character. "Good people" do bad things and vice versa. I believe that even the best people in the world can do terrible things and that those who are viewed as the worst can do great things. It's called being human and this show encapsulates this incredibly well in the finale.

I liked the foreboding mystery that will continue into the next season. There are a number of questions that were left unanswered and I will be very much engaged in the next season to see how they are answered.

I love how it depicted a crisis and how several different classes of individuals are affected.

Finally, I liked the last shot because it was so incredibly mysterious that I can't even speculate as to what Elliot saw or experienced.

So! WATCH THIS SHOW! And let me know what you thought of the finale

Finally a show that has some more "realistic hacking" in it. Instead of all the usual fake hollywood crap.

Great show with decent writing and technical but not too deep.

Will keep watching!

I loved the season from start to finish, I have no problems with the finale. I thought it nicely wrapped the seasons story and rounded our understanding of Elliot, while also setting up the next season.

If Fight Club would be remade for TV-series about hackers, it would be Mr. Robot. Sure, a lot of exaggerations, but as realistic as Person of Interest and at least 10 time more realistic than usual TV tech (don't get me started on CSI: Cyber's bull).
