Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is....interesting?

63079.jpgI will not judge a show by its first episode. I will not judge a show by its first episode. I will not judge a show by its first episode. I may judge this show by its first episode? If you haven't heard anything about Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Check out the trailer below.

Interesting premise, am I right? I'm not really sure how many seasons can be sustained and I'm also not sure how many episodes of random singing I can take. I watched the first episode and I'm intrigued and slightly disappointed. First off, the show "begins" in New York City when it's filmed in LA and no attempt is made to hide the orange buses that exist all throughout LA but not in NYC. I'm also disappointed in how they portray mental illness, in the first episode at least. I don't want to say more without spoiling it but if clarification isn't made regarding the actions of the protagonist then I may begin to strongly dislike this show.

Despite all of that, I'll stay tuned because I want to support CW as they created a show I love, Jane the Virgin, but, again, I'm not sure how long this is going to last. Is she going to spend 1 or 2 seasons trying to get with Josh only to fall in love with his handsome friend? Are we going to see more stories surrounding the supporting cast? I mean I guess we have to if they want this show to continue for a few more seasons.

Honestly, I'm on the fence. It seems to be funny and fairly dark, which I like, but I don't know how this show is going to continge moving forward. The only thing I can do is keep on watching and see for myself. Watched the first episode? Comment below and let me know what you thought.

I started watching this only because of the quirkiness of the lead female character. This is good for a one or two episodes but not so enjoyable over time!

Cute show. Strange how they can make a stalker-y ex-girlfriend into a fresh, funny sing-a-long type show.

I like it and actually hope it continues for a while (singing and all). I too enjoy and miss Galavant as well. :)

I really, really, really wanted to like this show. It sounds exactly like the kind of show I should want to watch. And at first it was. It was very funny, if dark, and just the right amount of crazy. And then the "Sexy Getting Ready Song" happened. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it yet, but the bathroom scene? Squick of all squicks. I finished watching until the end of the show, but the whole time I kept thinking about that one scene and I'm still thinking about it a week later. Ewwwww! No thank you. Maybe if there was less body humor and more WTF is happening in her head humor I would watch it, but as it is I can't bring myself to watch another episode. I might throw up.

I like it, but I'd like it even more if there was, like, 50% less singing. It is a bit too much for my taste. Most songs are funny, but I don't need them to run 3-4mins each.

Throw in a dragon, bigger busts, a clumsy or a unlikable person, a little humor and a pinch; o' WTF and you might have what is currently being repeated for the last 4 decades. The writers need better snuff.

I'm not really in that kind of show, but maybe one day if I have nothing else to watch. Which is very very unlikely.
