Watch Plebs - You'll like it!

129266.jpgWith the new season of Plebs starting this Monday (4th April), I thought I’d introduce it to those that do not know anything about it…

Plebs follows the lives of three desperate young men from the lower classes in ancient Rome, as they try to participate in sexual intercourse, hold down jobs and climb the social ladder in the big city. There’s Marcus (played by Tom Rosenthal) and Stylax (played by Joel Fry), who work in a scriptorium in the company of a female manager, Flavia (played by Doon MacKichan), the water-carrier, Aurelius (played by Tom Basden), and communications officer Claudius (played by Adrian Scarborough). The third leading character, Grumio (played by Ryan Sampson), is their lazy slave with an attitude problem.

Plebs first aired March 25, 2013 in the UK on ITV 2 with an episode called “The Orgy”, which was enough to perk anyone’s interest!
The two leading characters (Marcus and Stylax) were pleased to learn that 2 females (Cynthia and her slave, Metella) had moved in next door.

Marcus offered to take Cynthia around the city to show her the sights, but his attempts to form any kind of relationship with her were ruined when he invites her to an orgy. Meanwhile, Stylax attended the party with Flavia, but discovered that he is part of the entertainment!

It was the start of a very enjoyable series that, although only 6 episodes long, was an absolute joy to watch.

A very slightly extended second season of 8 episodes aired from September to November in 2014 and (much the same as the first), was filled with some great laughs with a little bit (But not too much) adult humour.

The new third season promises much of the same, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

It also has a great theme song which I managed to get hold of and then add some screenshots to make a little music video of my own which I uploaded to YouTube quite a while ago. You can see that video below.

Plebs airs Monday nights on ITV2 in the UK at 10:30pm - however the new season will open with a double-bill of new episodes Monday 3rd April from 10:00pm to 11:00pm.

Please, feel free to share your views and comments on Plebs. I look forward to reading them :)

The third series hasn't been as strong as the first two. You can see Joel Fry in GoT.
