Aaron Paul is Back...

129395.jpg...In the new show, 'The Path'!. I'm a huge a fan of 'Breaking Bad' and prequel 'Better Call Saul' as well, so was delighted to see posters for this new Hulu original show. Created by Jessica Goldberg, (whose past credits include producing NBC's 'Parenthood'), 'The Path' follows the story of Eddie Lane (Aaron Paul), Cal Roberts (Hugh Dancy) and Sarah Lane (Michelle Monaghan) who are all involved in the religious cult of Myersim. Sarah was born into and Cal quickly rose in the ranks within this cult and Eddie is struggling with his faith. All three actors are individuals who I am huge fans of in other projects that they have worked on, Hugh Dancy in 'Hannibal' played an excellent character, very well as did Michelle Monaghan in 'True Detective', I am hoping to witness her acting skills within this show too. Aaron Paul and Hugh Dancy display a great dynamic within the first two episodes, as the viewer gets to witness the strain that exists within Eddie and the power of persuasion that Cal demonstrates.

This show not only caught my eye because of the actors but because of the story that is being told. I am incredibly fascinated by cults and how they operate and this show brings the viewer in at a key point within Myerism. Cal appears to want to take the religion into a different direction which will be great to witness as the show continues. Honestly, it would be boring without it. And the production of this show is quite good. There are some scenes involving Aaron Paul that are incredibly well done.

I've watched the first two episodes and am absolutely hooked into this show. The teaser seems to show the direction this show is moving in and I am interested to see where it goes and how it does. I think this show has the potential to be quite exemplary and stand out from the pack of television shows that are being created across all platforms.

Haven't heard of this show? Check out the trailer below. If you've seen the first two episodes, what are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below.

It's definitely a decent first two episodes. Stand out from the pack of television shows that are being created across all platforms - not so much.

But it'll be interesting to see where they're taking this throughout the entirety of the first season for sure.

This series never caught my interests and never will.... I find cult series/films too romanized by the American film industry.
