Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Has Returned!

133157.jpgThis fantastic show from creators Robert Carlock and Tina Fey has once again graced us with its presence on Netflix? Have no idea who or what an Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is? Check out the trailer below.

When this show first premiered in 2015, my girlfriend and I consumed it. We loved it all from Elle Kemper as Kimmy to Tituss Burgess as Titus Andromedon to Carol Kane as Lillian to the random guest appearances that frequented this show. And season 2 is running on all cylinders with all the original character returning and some great guest cameos like Fred Armisen as Robert Durst. This show hits so many marks that I relish in a good comedy set in New York, fantastic female and people or color characters, jokes about how difficult it is to live in New York City and how disgusting the city is overall, and great chemistry between characters. I absolutely love Titus Andromedon and find that his interactions between Lillian and Kimmy are what I enjoy the most about this show. He is, in my opinion, one of the beast characters on the show. He has great delivery, his character is difficult to pin down, and his scenes are unbelievable funny.

I also love the issues the show covers surrounding gender, sexual, and racial identity to poverty and wealth. It has a great message and even features a fantastic opening song stating that women are strong as hell. The one major cringe-worthy aspect of it is the cheap Native American jokes that often involve Jane Krakoswki as Jaqueline White. I've only seen the first two episodes of this season, but I hope that the writers move away from this as the season continues.

If you like Parks and Rec and 30 rock, you will love Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. If you've had an opportunity to check it out, let me know what you think by commenting below.

Really loved season 1 of Kimmy. I have all of season 2, but haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet. Looking forward to it though.

The first episode of the new season was a bit of a mess. The rest of the season was great. I really appreciate that they lampshaded some of the tropes they had established in last season. All in all I give it an 8/10.
