Zane Graham

Zane, Darby's oldest friend and closest confidant, is a small-town cop who joined the force to do good, hands-on policing work – from stopping purse snatchers to rescuing Mittens from a tree – in the community he's known all of his life. Smart and capable, Zane could probably have become a detective years ago but never aspired to it, preferring the simplicity of uniformed patrol, though the arrival of Alder Bluff's newest (and most annoying) detective, Jeremy Harris, has caused him to rethink his choices. A son to lawyers, Zane is a toe-the-line, rule-follower type who's happy to sidestep the limelight and defer to his happy-go-lucky, well-loved husband, Antonia Pereira. But he'll quickly snap to DEFCON 1 if anything threatens Antonio, their two-year-old adopted daughter Lucy, or BFFs Darby and Victoria.
