Raj Varma

Raj Varma is Jin's naval officer boyfriend. He comes from a military family — his father fought for India in the Kargil War — and he's chosen to follow in his dad's footsteps. A captain of a platoon in the Himalayas, his father killed an entire enemy camp to save his own men, earning him India's highest military honor. Like his dad, Raj joined the navy to defend his country and was the top of his class at the Royal Naval College. He's the first romantic partner Jin has really allowed herself to get close to. He extends the same level of loyalty to Jin as he does the navy and his family. On duty, Raj isn't one to question his commanding officers and is willing to do whatever it takes to win at war, casualties and all. He and Jin's best friend Auggie clash when it comes to their views of humanity.
