Mayor Parsnips was Lone Moose mayor in 1974 during Alaska's longest and coldest winter in recorded history. The winter know as Mother Death. While everyone was running low of food, firewood and hope in another attempt to find substenance the mayor found moose droopings. It helped save the city.
