Oscar is known for his gentle and kind-hearted nature. However, he's not particularly creative or confident, which makes him heavily reliant on his friend Hedgehog. Many conflicts in the series are either initiated or exacerbated by Oscar, as he lacks assertiveness and often finds himself in awkward situations. While he might not be absent-minded in the conventional sense, he tends to be forgettable and lacks strong social skills. As Oscar himself once admitted, "I do better in small groups of two or less" (as mentioned in episode one).
Despite his shortcomings, Oscar always has the best interests of those around him at heart. Even when his actions may seem irrational, his intentions are always sincere. He is, in essence, a naive kid who genuinely cares about his friends and the well-being of the camp.
