Admiral Preston is a high ranking officer in the Martian Congressional Republic Navy (MCRN).
During the Free Navy Conflict he held a senior command in the remaining loyal Martian Congressional Republic Navy.
Admiral Preston discussed the future development of EMC strategy for the Free Navy Conflict through a live video feed with UN Secretary-General Chrisjen Avasarala aboard the UNN Zenobia. He was visibly upset about the weakened strength of the MCRN following the secession of the rogue MCRN faction to the Laconia system and was agitated to bring the war to the Free Navy directly, in the wake of the capture of the Azure Dragon.
Later, Admiral Sandrine Kirino contacts Preston and MCR Naval Command and informs them of the decline by Avasarala to provide forces for an assault of Medina Station and the Ring Space. Preston sends an answer in response, clarifying that the MCRN is prepared to stage such an assault on its own and doesn't necessarily need UNN support.
