Yaechiyo is the Taikō's only child, born to the young consort, Ochiba. Too young to take the throne when his father died, Yaechiyo trains to be a leader, admiring Toranaga as an uncle. Bright and full of promise, Yaechiyo is too innocent to comprehend the danger surrounding him.
