Why did you apply to be on The Traitors?

I have been the biggest fan of the show from across all the seasons. This show is like a breath of fresh air and authentic fun, but also a tonne of emotions, gameplay and competitiveness. It really kind of suits my character and I'm at the stage in my life now where I just want to have as many amazing experiences as possible. I applied on a whim, and then suddenly we're here.

Tell us a bit about yourself and what you think you'll bring to the show?

I'm a very competitive person. I really enjoy making and creating authentic relationships with people, but I do have a side of me which is just ruthlessly competitive as well. I'm hoping that I'll be made a Traitor as I think I have all the right attributes for it. I studied languages at university, so I spent a lot of time in different countries, and I love meeting people from different backgrounds with different experiences in life. Everyone's got a story, right? And I think I've got good ones to tell as well.

What do you think you'll bring to the game?

Fun! I'm really silly and I like messing around. I like having a joke with people, so I'm hoping I can also bring good spirits when it gets quite intense. I'm also quite physically fit so I hope I can help the team out in Missions.

What are you like when playing games with friends and family? Would you say you're competitive?

Always! As I've grown up, I've learned what to care about afterwards. In the moment, I always care, but not so much afterwards.

Do you have a game plan?

My game plan is just assuming that I'm going to be made a Traitor. I've re-watched all of the three seasons recently to see exactly how the good and bad Traitors played the game. The best answer I've found is that the first five to seven banishments and murders are pretty much potluck. It's almost herd mentality; people go into that Round Table and one person says something that people cotton onto and it becomes a domino effect.

My game plan is very much to be in the middle, not too much on the front-foot, but still offering some opinions. I will then create the authentic relationships that I need to without being too cliquey, because that can also be suspicious. I'm going to play it in the middle but always be ready to be aggressive when I need to be.

If you are a Traitor, how do you think you'll feel?

Amazing – I'd just feel so excited. Of course I'd feel anxious, because I've imagined it so much, but it would just be a great experience.

If you are a Traitor, how far are you prepared to go to win the game?

All the way! I have a side of me which is just ruthlessly competitive. I know it's a game, and I also know that if the shoe was on the other foot, they would do the same to me, so I can detach myself emotionally from that situation.

Would you say you've got a good poker face?

I think so! You can never see yourself, but I'd like to think so.

Do you think you'll be good at the Missions? What strengths do you think you might bring to them?

Part of the whole experience of this show is doing the Missions. Physically, I'm very active and very fit and healthy, so I really enjoy a good physical challenge. I'm not as strong at problem solving stuff, but I will definitely try and take as much responsibility as I can in challenges where I do like to lead.

If you're a Faithful, what do you think your game plan would be?

In a way, I think being a Faithful might be easier because you can be totally your authentic yourself. You don't have to worry at all about slipping up or making a wrong impression. Being a Faithful, means that you have a total lack of control so you are almost being played instead of playing the game, which is why I would like to be a Traitor.

How good are you at spotting a liar?

I think I'm very good, and it's one of those things where you have to be consistently wary about whatever anyone's saying. Even their backstory could be a lie, so I'm constantly aware. I think that's the easiest way to stay on your toes and spot any lies by consistently reminding yourself that what this person's telling me could be completely fabricated.

If you are a Faithful, what qualities do you think you're going to need to make it through to the final?

It's those authentic relationships. I build trust very well, because I do trust people, and as much as I like to talk, I'm a better listener and I think that builds a lot of trust as well.

If you win the prize money, what do you think you'll spend it on?

My wife and I want to start a family next year; that's the biggest driver for me doing this. The money would go towards childcare and everything like that as the costs are astronomical now, and so the money would just remove so much external pressure for us.
