Desmond "Des" Courtney, born Dustin Redmond, is a 19-year-old P.I. working for Doyle & Doyle Detective Services. When he was six, Des' father, Jody, was arrested for a string of bank robberies. Des changed his name to Desmond and took his mother's maiden name, Courtney. Des views the Doyles as his family.
