Eunice Harper Higgins

Eunice is the starring character from The Carol Burnett Show, portrayed by Carol Burnett her self. Thelma Harper is in the care of Eunice. However, according to the movie also named Eunice, it seems that she has an addiction to provide unnecessary care for her relatives. By the time of Mama's Family, Thelma Harper is this type of character in stead of Eunice. There are subtle differences between them such as Thelma is sure to force her family to be self sufficient, and not do every insignificant thing for them. Eunice is now focusing on her celebrity career even if it means neglecting her home, her husband, and her children. Growing up, she noticed her siblings, and every other family member also, succeed in such things. Eunice is unwilling to start from scratch and is prone to outbursts that cause her to be arrested. One of her children is Bubba, who picked up many of her bad habits. He is overdressed as any body that feels that they are upper class when they are of course certainly not and no where near it. His belly button is hidden by his high pants and with his shirt tucked in the entire time except for one scene in a half shirt. In reality he is a criminal on the wrong path and was abandoned when Eunice finally succeeded in what is most important to her. It is up to Thelma to raise Bubba all over again and install at least some type of stability in Bubba's life. The reason why the episodes shifted drastically towards Bubba is after Carol Burnett did not want to have any thing to do with the franchise. She did not approve of Vicki Lawrence accepting a second offer for the next version of Mama's Family, the one that ran in first run syndication.
