Annabelle Hurst is a British scientist and computer expert, working for 'Department S', a special unit of Interpol, headquartered in Paris, which is where her computer, "Auntie", is situated (since, in the 1960s, computers were still huge machines). However, her work is not limited to computer research, she also works in the field.
She has a romantic relationship with team leader Stewart Sullivan (often hinted at and subtly suggested, never fully shown), and a somewhat antagonistic one with the flamboyant author Jason King (constantly shown, in fact the main source of humor in the show).
