Pete Dixon is a starring character of Room 222, and employee of a fictionalized Los Angeles School District known as Walt Whitman High School. He is the twin of Quincy Davis (Calvin Lockhart) from Halls of Anger. Dixon is young, single, certified teacher of 5 years at the beginning of the series. He earns numerous promotions during that time, including the department chair of Social Sciences, part time vice principal, substitute coach, and sponsor of endless extra curricular programs. He frequently gets involved personally in his students lives spanning from simply offering to transport them from school, or to masquarade as a welfare office employee. He is calm, rational, warm, impartial, diplomatic, knowledgeable, and idealistic. His curriculum is frequently American History lessons where research and thinking outside the box is encouraged. Many issues he encounters spans from racial oppression as well as general student traumas. Mr. Dixon has a romantic interest in coworker Liz McIntyre and has a familial bond with student Jason Allen.
