Binky Barnes

Binky Barnes is filled with proverbial skeletons. He failed Mr. Ratburn's class, and is in his class yet again. He feels he is good for nothing. He plays the clarinet, but cannot afford to keep doing so. He loses out to Sue Ellen. When he tells Arthur how much of a loser he is, he is proven wrong when Binky won at a quick game of shooting Rocks. Binky loves to bother George. Binky's outbursts are from school only; He does not have an unstable home life. On the contrary, Binky is quite gentle. He is afraid that Arthur will ridicule him since Arthur and Buster are well known for being ignorant. However, nobody is offended that Binky sleeps with a Night Light. Muffy is quick to blame Binky and is not afraid to stand up to him, even when she is wrong. Every body else warms up to Binky, whether he likes it or not. He teaches The Brain self defense. Binky is able to overcome his limitations at school by doing extensive research. Unfortunately, despite all they been through together, Arthur and Buster still depict Binky as a monster.
