Ted Wassanasong, based off of Li Ka Shing, is a leading citizen in Arlen, Texas. He is even more snobbish and even more materialistic instead of Kahn. Kahn tries to take advandtage of Ted in order to advance Socially. At the same time, Ted tries to take advantage of Hank in order to advance Socially. Despite sounding stuffy, he has a perfect grasp of English, and can also speak Cantonese. One of Ted's ambitions is to take over Laos. Ted has attended Episcopal Church for political reasons. At the same time, he has not forgotten to be Buddhist, as he is much more calm and serene as Kahn wishes he had that much self discipline.
