Maddy Platter

Maddy Platter is Peggy's relative. In each episode involving Peggy's mother, the role of her mother ends up changing slightly every time. With each new episode, there are more scenes depicting disputes between them. The Thanksgiving episode reveals that The Platters have a ranch in Montana. Later, they finally arrive in Montana to visit a ranch, which Peggy's father seems to have remarried decades ago. His wife could be Peggy's stepmother, or it could be a running gag that the production staff does about Peggy's relationship with her mother. What really happened with Peggy's relationship is most likely too bleak to explain on television.
