Already a leader in his field of obstetrics and gynecology, the stern, repressed Dr. William Masters is intent on exploring the nature of human sexuality and how the body responds during sexual stimulation. With the assistance of his more uninhibited research associate Virginia Johnson, he conducts a groundbreaking study that many regard as lewd and inappropriate.
