A Russian prince and eighth in line for the throne, Boris hunted all over the world and grew bored at the lack of danger. Finally he set out to hunt the most dangerous prey: an American gunfighter.
To carry out his plan, Boris traveled to Oregon and brought the mortgage of the widow of an American timberman. Through a third party he threatened to foreclose, and then approached the widow Vanessa as himself and suggested that she hire Paladin. When Paladin came to Oregon, Boris offered him $5,000 to participate in his hunt.
When Paladin refused, Boris hunted him anyway. He was wounded and finally paid a farmer to lure Paladin into a barn. dying, Boris told Paladin to draw. Paladin did and finished off Boris, and had the farmer bury Boris.
