An aspiring young racer with piercing green eyes, Jace Rucklin befriends Kaz and seemingly saves his life from a malfunctioning speeder bike. His charisma and carefree attitude, the antithesis of strict Jerek Yeager, make Kaz eager to impress him. But Kaz soon discovers that Rucklin isn't quite what he seems and ultimately their short-lived friendship ends in a rivalry.
