After her mutant powers had manifested in adolescence, the woman now known as Glow went to a concert, forgot herself, and released her glow spheres while dancing. She was arrested and tried, but when one juror refused to vote to convict, the state declared Glow a manic-depressive and had her confined to a mental institute. Glow subsequently escaped when the Inner circle launched an attack on the mental hospital to free one prisoner.
Glow has the mutant ability to unleash softball-sized glowing energy spheres when she can then mentally control, levitating them anywhere within her line of sight. Each sphere emits light roughly equivalent to a high-powered flashlight, although with concentration she may be able to increase their light output.
