Soulful, gentle, respected churchman and elder of his community, Siaosi is all at sea when it comes to his son. He expected his son would change in the Army, in some ways he even welcomed the discipline it would instil in him, but he can barely recognize the man who came home from the one he raised. This Izzy is sullen, disrespectful and deeply haunted. Previously Siaosi would've lectured his son on his behaviour, and brought him into line, but this doesn't work. Siaosi finds he can only offer love and patiently wait for a change in Izzy.
