Lt. Commander Data

Data is one of many characters played by Brent Spiner. His creators are The Soong Family, who are mad scientists. Despite his mother figure being converted to an Android after her death, Data says that when he ceases to function, he prefers to either be converted to an organic Humanoid, or be left to die. He does not see himself as sophisticated and decides to install an upgrade to have Human emotions and dreams. He names each of his cats Spot. None of them ever get along with any other crew member, except for Beverly. Data has the attention of Vulcans as well as Betazoids such as Tam Elbrun. Data's current status is deactivated, and considered deceased.
