Lt. Tasha Yar

Natasha Yar, or just Tasha, was raised on yet another failed colony. They turned on each other, with a balance of power remaining. She thought lowly of her home world, and escaped to Star Fleet. She is the tactical officer. Her worst fear is returning to her colony. She lost her life in an impulsive conflict with a Q-like creature named Armus. Later, an anomaly recreated her, and she moved to Romulus where she had a daughter. This version of Tasha also was killed for defecting. However, her daughter still lives and encounters Tasha's former crew.
