Mischa, along with her twin sister, Jessa, was "dragon-marked", knowing what would happen to the twins if revealed the LeBron parents decided to ask a friend to help conceal the marks and suppress Mischa's magic so she and her mother Lienda could live as "humans" in New York City. When they are found Mischa and her mother have no choice but to return to the supernatural world she never knew.
