While Rex Randolph and Cal Calhoun discussed the detective agency's troubles, a police officer informed Rex that he was required to attend the probate of Mr. Ledezan, a wealthy man with a dubious past. Ledezan's will contains a peculiar codicil: his children will inherit the million-dollar fortune only after Rex proves Ledezan died of natural causes, not murder.
